The Sensor Informatics and Medical Technology research group focuses on the development of probabilistic (i.e. Bayesian) signal processing and machine learning methods especially for health and medical applications. Other applications include smartphone sensor fusion, robotics, positioning systems, target tracking, and many other indirectly measured systems.

The positions will be appointed for a fixed term appointment starting in late 2017 or early 2018.

IIASA located in Schloss Laxenburg near Vienna, Austria, provides full funding for a number of postdoctoral researchers each year. Scholars conduct their own research on topics closely related to one or more projects on IIASA's agenda.

The Hellenic Observatory (HO) welcomes applications for Visiting Fellows, Visiting Senior Fellows & Visiting Professors by academics or policy practitioners who may want to spend a period of between 6-12 months at the LSE to conduct independent research on a topic relevant to the work of the Hellenic Observatory. It is anticipated that Visiting Fellows, Visiting Senior Fellows & Visiting Professors will play an active part in the intellectual life of the Hellenic Observatory during their fellowship.
