The JRC – in co-operation with 12 other scientists from 5 EU Member States plus Canada, the United States and Brazil – summarized the recent developments in mycotoxin analysis. Mycotoxins are the top ranking contaminants listed in the European Commission's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
In order to update mycotoxin analysts with the recent developments in the field authors critically review publications and put them in perspective to past developments. A special focus is given to developments with the potential to be useful for the routine analyst. In this regular review series authors also suggests where current progress has the potential to lead to new and improved standardized methods like ISO or CEN method, urgently needed by the community of control laboratories . The review series exists since 7 years in the World Mycotoxin Journal is one of the most cited publication series in its field.
