The European Commission presented on 1st June its vision on how European standard setting should evolve in the light of technological developments, political priorities and global trends.
It also announced next steps on the Joint Initiative on Standardisation (JIS), which was supported by the JRC. It aims to reinforce the partnership between the European institutions and the standardisation community.
The JRC also supported the 2017 Union work programme for European standardisation, which identifies standards in ICT and services as priorities.
