Applications are invited for 15 three-year PhD studentships to be funded by the Marie- Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “BactiVax” within the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission.

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill (3) full time Experience Researchers (ERs)/ post-doctoral Research Associates at the newly established UNESCO and European Research Area Chairs on Digital Cultural Heritage within the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory (DHRLab) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in the research field of Digital Heritage and Cultural Informatics.

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill six (6) PhD fellows / ESR places at the newly established UNESCO and European Research Area Chairs on Digital Cultural Heritage within the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory (DHRLab) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in the research field of Digital Heritage and Cultural Informatics.

The selected scientists will work for a period of forty-two (42) months within the EU H2020 ERA Chair ‘Mnemosyne Project’, a unique EU-funded programme, beginning from March 2020.

University of Bern has openings for 4 PhD positions in the areas of machine learning and computer vision. Each position covers one of these topics: Self-Supervised Learning, Disentangling Factors of Variations, Unsupervised Learning, and Learning Interactions. Research objectives include the development and analysis of generative models for images and videos, and the development of novel machine learning methods. Research will be performed in the Computer Vision Group at the University of Bern.

CanFaster - Postdoctoral COFUND-MSCA-EU program, recruiting five fellows within Cancer and Entrepreneurship

CanFaster, which is co funded by EU, is a two-years post-doctoral program, within cancer research and entrepreneurship. The program will recruit 15 fellows during three calls. The goal is to faster forward the discoveries in cancer research, to speed up the time from discovery to change in clinical practice.

Two full-time Ph.D. student positions are open in the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering at Aalto University, Espoo, Finland.
The work involves use of naturalistic stimuli (movies and narratives) in neuroimaging studies of emotions and cognition in social contexts.

The goal of the PhD programme is threefold: to prepare candidates for a continuing career in teaching and research; to educate a new generation of scholars to produce high-quality independent research; and to equip them with the analytical and problem-solving skills required for a successful career in both the public and private sectors.

Sex chromosomes, their differentiation, and role in speciation belong to the most intriguing questions of evolutionary genetics. It was proposed that comparison of patterns in sex chromosome evolution between male and female heterogametic taxa could be informative for identification of general features of this process. Moths and butterflies (Lepidoptera) represent the most speciose lineage with female heterogamety (WZ/ZZ).

The next PhD Program at CeMM, the Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and LBI-RUD, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases in Vienna will start in September 2020.
