The Migelien Gerritzen Fund/Rijksmuseum Fund enables candidates to conduct conservation and/or scientific research on art works and historical artifacts. Focus should be the Rijksmuseum collection or ideation that has been initiated at the Rijksmuseum. A suitable project might entail technical research into objects in the Rijksmuseum’s collection and/or analytical techniques, preventive conservation, and treatment methodologies. This fellowship enables candidates to collaborate with conservators, curators and scientists active at the Rijksmuseum.

The first position is part of a project examining the role of microbial populations in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), anaerobic digesters and in hydroponics (HYP) units with the goal of better understanding conditions that will maximise beneficial transfers of microbes and their products among components of decoupled aquaponics systems.

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Prof. Petr Broz in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The Broz lab investigates the processes and signaling pathways that allows cells to detect and respond to the infection with pathogenic microorganisms. A particular focus of the lab is the inflammasome, a multi protein signaling platform that is assembled by pattern recognition receptors upon detection of pathogen- or host-derived danger signals, and which controls the release of cytokines and the induction of pyroptosis.
