You will conduct independent, high-quality business research, supervised by a team of professors, and incorporate the research findings into a doctoral dissertation. Also, you will be involved in teaching activities at the School of Business and Economics. You will follow a PhD training program at ABRI’s Graduate School to boost your research skills and prepare you for an academic career.

Esade Business School is seeking applications for the Doctoral Programme in Management Sciences starting in September 2024. The Programme is full time and taught in English at our Barcelona-Sant Cugat campus.

This four-year programme consists of a one-year Master of Research (MRes), which comprises the specialized research coursework of the PhD (further information: MRes website), and three years dedicated to the development of the PhD dissertation (further information: PhD website).

In this role, you will work closely with academic and industry partners to develop innovative digital supported technologies and methods for the design and operation of future manufacturing systems. Examples are the model based planning and operation of workplaces, manufacturing systems and whole factories (e.g. through using factory/workplace simulation, machine learning or VR/AR) or the development of innovative automation solutions.

The European University Institute (EUI) offers four-year fully-funded PhD programmes in Economics, History, Law and Political and Social Sciences. Up to 130 scholarships are available for entry in September 2024, covering tuition and providing a monthly grant.

In 2035, cancer will have become the leading cause of death in the EU. Therapy resistance is a key contributor to high recurrence rates, morbidity, and mortality. Esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) is the most common type of esophageal cancer in the Western world, and a prime example of a cancer that is highly resistant to therapy. Despite recent developments of treatment strategies, long-term survival remains low. Prominent factors that contribute to the poor outcome of EAC are a high degree of acquired resistance, and heterogeneous responses to therapies.

At the Data and AI cluster at the Eindhoven University of Technology, we aim at developing foundations of AI for the present and the future. This includes the design of new AI methods, development of AI algorithms and tools with a view at expanding the reach of AI and its generalization abilities.
