In the Netherlands, priority is currently being given to eliminating new HIV infections and finding a cure for HIV. In this context, two four year research projects will be conducted. Project 1 focuses on social engagement in HIV cure, the meaningful involvement of people with HIV in that process, and the impact a cure can have on HIV stigma. Project 2 focuses on a regional, tailored approach to HIV prevention in the EuRegio Limburg with German and Belgian border regions for high risk groups such as refugees and men-having-sex-with-men (MSM).

The PhD student will work within the research programme Dynamics of the Durable: A History of Durability in the Visual and Decorative Arts (DURARE). DURARE is funded by the European Research Council, by way of a Starting Grant awarded to principal investigator Dr Marjolijn Bol. You will be based at Utrecht University and will as such also be part of the Department of History and Art History, section Art History.

SCIENTIA FELLOWS is a research fellowship programme in the field of Health Life Sciences launched and managed by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo. It is partly funded by the EU Horizon 2020 under the Maria Skłodowska-Curie scheme – Co-funding of Regional, National and International Programmes (COFUND).

University of Amsterdam is looking for enthusiastic candidates for 2 PhD positions in particle astrophysics at the University of Amsterdam. You will be embedded in the GRAPPA Center of excellence in Gravitation and Astroparticle Physics, a multidisciplinary team of researchers active in a variety of research topics including dark matter, compact objects, high-energy astrophysics and physics beyond the standard model.

The Institute of Virology develops innovative viral vector vaccines based on the vesicular stomatitis virus.

The aim of the PhD project will be to develop a VSV-based vaccine vectors.

One project will focus on the development of an HIV vaccine, the other one on a therapeutic vaccine against the human papillomaviurs/cancerous lesions. Both projects will involve working with mouse immunization models. Moreover, we are using a wide spectrum of immunology, cell and molecular biology methods.

‍That’s the project

In European Union-funded project on translational cancer research, headed by Professor Kari Hemminki, several postdoctoral positions with different areas of expertize are currently sought to work in Biomedical Center, Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The focus will be initially on colorectal cancer. The aims are to assess genetic and cellular changes taking place in the progression of colorectal cancer from precursor tumors (adenomas) to single or multiple colorectal cancers and lastly to metastases.

These research positions will be supported by the Micro and Quantum Systems group (https://www.aalto.fi/en/department-of-electronics-and-nanoengineering/mi...) which is led by Professor Ilkka Tittonen. The group focuses mainly on the study of various nanofabrication methods, energy harvesting, thermoelectrics, and quantum optics theory and experiments.

In 2019, a new multidisciplinary research initiative on sustainable industry and society called IRIS was launched at the KTH School of Industrial Engineering and Management. IRIS focuses on knowledge creation and spreading awareness for the paradigm shift needed in transforming industrial systems towards a circular economy approach.
