The PhD positions are part of a funded Horizon 2020 research project, entitled “Equal-Life: Early environmental quality and life-course mental health effects”. The project will develop and test combined exposure (exposome) data using a novel approach to multimodal environment-related exposures (e.g. quality of neighborhood in urban areas, access to amenities, air pollution, noise, proximity to green spaces, natural light, social safety, social interactions, among others) and their impact on children’s mental health and development.

The positions are within dr. Sicco Verwer's recently funded VIDI project "Learning state machines from infrequent software traces". The project goal is research and develop novel model learning algorithms and develop tools for learning from software log data. The aim is to provide software analysts with insightful models. We are able to learn insightful state machine models for the frequent happy flow of software. Although these can be useful to understand software, the real interesting behavior occurs in the infrequent unhappy flows, typically caused by errors.

Bone defects constitute a major health burden. Current therapies are insufficient, in particular for large defects or if the self-healing capacity is compromised. This is why novel therapies are urgently required. Two PhD positions are currently available at Radboudumc within the framework of the project "RNA4Bone" to develop novel colloidal biomaterials, self-assembled from nanoparticles containing mRNA coding for growth factors to stimulate bone regeneration.

The Machine Learning and Computational Biology Laboratory at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) is seeking two postdoctoral researchers to work on Machine Learning for Alzheimer's Disease. The Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich is offering two new positions for the Doctoral Program in the History and Theory of Architecture.

The program’s focus is on the history and theory of architecture and urbanism in a wider context of cultural history, including the history and theory of art, science and technology.
