Applications are invited for 10 PhD positions (“Doctoral Researchers”) to be funded by the Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network “REBONE – End-to-end multidisciplinary optimal design for improved personalized bioactive glass/ceramic bone substitute implants”.

The MINT fellowships provide competitive funding as well as a number of complements including travel expenses to Toulouse, tuition and university fees, as well as financial support to attend conferences and schools either in France or abroad.

In scientific terms, MINT relies on the faculty of the “Institut de Mathematiques de Toulouse” (IMT). The IMT counts over 200 tenured faculty members covering a large range of contemporary research in both Pure and Applied Mathematics.

These post doc positions are part of a Career Programme for early-stage researchers in Educational Sciences initiated by Umeå School of Education. As a post doc in the career program, you will be part of an interdisciplinary network in addition to your regular research context. Expected starting date is by agreement but no later than January 2025.

The PhD candidates will become part of a research team on international coalitions for peace in the era of decolonization (1918-1970), led by dr. Carolien Stolte. The positions are fully funded under the ERC Starting Grant scheme (project RECONPAX, 2 positions) and the NWO VIDI scheme (project “Peace Palms”, two positions). The expected starting date is 1 September 2024.

The goal of these 3 PhDs is to develop different types of machine learning-based approximations to simulation tools, that can accelerate their runtimes by many orders of magnitude. If this happens with good accuracy in- and out-of-distribution, then we can eventually apply them directly in such policy studies.

The 3 PhDs are collaborative yet independent, because they explore methodological concepts in three groups:

The joint CiM-IMPRS graduate program of the International Max Planck Research School - Molecular Biomedicine and Münster’s Cells in Motion Interfaculty Centre offers positions to pursue PhD projects in the life sciences.
